📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Rinse Wheels and Wheel Wells
Spray high-pressure water through the wheel spokes, across the tire surface, and into the wheel wells. Knock off loose road grime, caked mud, and heavy brake dust deposits before applying any chemical cleaners.
- • Heavy mud and loose surface debris have washed away from the wheel face and rim barrel.
- • Spraying water directly into hot brake rotors.
Clean and Scrub the Rubber Tire
Spray tire cleaner or degreaser liberally across the entire rubber sidewall. Scrub vigorously with a stiff-bristle tire brush until the foaming cleaner pulls the brown oxidized grime out of the rubber, then rinse thoroughly.

- • Using a stiff tire brush on the painted or clear-coated alloy face of the rim.
Decontaminate the Inner Wheel Barrel
Spray dedicated wheel cleaner inside the wheel barrel behind the spokes. Insert a long-reach flexible barrel brush, working in back-and-forth strokes around the entire perimeter behind the brake caliper.
- • Dark caked brake dust inside the inner barrel is agitated into a slurry and rinsed away.
- • Jamming the brush forcefully between the wheel barrel and brake caliper.
Agitate Wheel Face, Spokes, and Lug Nuts
Apply foaming wheel cleaner across the wheel face. Use a soft-bristle detailing brush in circular motions around lug nut recesses and valve stems, then use a soft microfiber wheel brush across the spoke faces before a complete pressure rinse.

Apply Iron Remover Decontaminant
Mist a dedicated color-changing iron remover over the wheel face and barrel. Allow the chemical to dwell for 2 to 4 minutes until it turns dark purple upon reacting with embedded brake dust particles, then rinse completely.

Dry the Wheel and Apply Protection
Dry the wheel face, barrel, and tire thoroughly using a dedicated microfiber drying towel. Apply a spray wheel sealant to the alloy to repel future brake dust, and spread an even layer of tire dressing along the tire sidewall using an applicator pad.
