📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Disconnect the Negative Battery Terminal
Pop the vehicle hood and locate the 12V car battery. Loosen the nut on the negative terminal clamp with an appropriate socket wrench and slide the clamp off the battery post. Tuck the cable securely to the side so it cannot spring back into contact.

Remove Dash Trim and Factory Stereo
Use plastic trim tools to gently pry the bezel surrounding the radio, starting from the lower corners and releasing retention clips. Locate and remove the Phillips screws or hex bolts securing the factory stereo bracket to the dash subframe. Pull the radio forward and unclip all electrical harnesses and the thick antenna cable from the rear.

Wire the Aftermarket Harness to the Stereo Harness
Strip 3/8-inch of insulation from each lead on both the new stereo harness and the vehicle adapter harness. Match standardized colors wire-for-wire (e.g., Yellow to constant 12V, Red to accessory ignition, Black to chassis ground, and speaker pairs like White, Gray, Green, and Purple). Join each matching pair firmly using insulated crimp caps or butt connectors.

- • Unused wires (like power antenna or illumination if unneeded) safely capped individually
- • Swapping the constant 12V (yellow) and switched accessory (red) wires, causing radio memory loss

Assemble Dash Kit and Mount New Stereo
Configure the aftermarket dash kit for your stereo size (single DIN with a storage pocket or double DIN opening). Attach the kit's side brackets onto the new stereo chassis using the short counter-sunk machine screws provided with the head unit. Snap or slide the assembly into the dash faceplate adapter until flush.

Plug In Connections and Test Functionality
Plug the wired adapter harness into the car's factory plug, snap the antenna adapter into place, and connect the main harness to the rear of the new stereo. Temporarily reconnect the negative battery terminal and turn the ignition to ACCESSORY. Test power, AM/FM radio reception, Bluetooth/aux input, and balance/fade across all four speakers before final installation.

Align the outer dashboard trim bezel clips and press firmly around the edges until all clips snap securely into place.
